Compact. Lightweight. Controlled traction for prehospital care.
The FareTec CT-6 / CT-EMS Leg Traction Splint is a lightweight, compact traction system designed to provide support and traction for mid-shaft femur fractures during prehospital care and patient transport.
Built around a carbon-fiber frame, the splint folds into an exceptionally small transport package while deploying rapidly when needed. Carbon tube sections are connected by an internal bungee system, allowing the frame to assemble quickly as it is removed from the carrying bag.
A mechanical 4:1 purchase traction system provides gradual, adjustable traction, while FareTec's V-Jam cleat allows the responder to secure and readjust tension throughout patient care and transport.

Compact Enough for any Aid Bag
The CT-6 was designed to deliver full-size traction capability without the size and bulk of traditional traction splints.
Packed Dimensions: 3 × 4 × 12 in. (7.6 × 10.2 × 30.5 cm)
Weight: 500 g / 1.1 lb.
Its compact packed size makes the CT-6 well suited for EMS jump bags, military aid bags, rescue vehicles, aircraft and other environments where equipment space is limited.
4:1 Adjustable Traction System
Traction is applied using a 4:1 purchase system, allowing controlled tension to be generated with relatively little pulling force.
Once the desired tension is established, the traction line is secured in the integrated V-Jam cleat.
The system also allows traction to be reassessed and adjusted during extended patient transport.
Rapid-Deploy Carbon Frame
The CT-6 uses lightweight carbon-fiber tubing connected by an internal bungee.
When removed from the carrying bag, the tube sections quickly align and connect to form the support frame.
The modular tube design also allows the splint length to be adjusted to the patient before application.
Everything Stays With the Splint
The CT-6 is supplied as a ready-to-deploy system with the primary application components attached or stored together.
This minimizes loose components and helps reduce setup time when the splint is needed.
The complete system includes:
Carbon-fiber traction-splint frame
4:1 traction system
Ischial strap
Ankle hitch
Four leg straps
Carrying bag
Waterproof, tear-resistant quick-reference instructions
Replacement ankle hitches, leg straps and other components are available separately.
Carbon-Fiber Construction
The CT-6's carbon-fiber support tubing provides an excellent strength-to-weight ratio while helping keep the complete system highly portable.
Additional advantages include:
Lightweight construction
Corrosion resistance
X-ray translucent frame material
Compact segmented design
Resistance to demanding transport environments

Intended Use
The FareTec CT-6 Leg Traction Splint is intended to provide support and traction for mid-shaft femur fractures during prehospital care and patient transport.
The current FareTec Instructions for Use identify the intended patient group as adults with shaft fractures of the femur that do not involve the knee joint.
The device is intended for use by healthcare professionals and appropriately trained non-medical personnel.
Important Clinical Information
According to the current FareTec Instructions for Use, the CT-6 is indicated for:
Mid-shaft femur fractures
The traction splint should not be used for:
Femoral neck fractures
Fracture and/or dislocation involving the knee
Fractured ankle
Patient circulation should be assessed before application and reassessed throughout treatment and transport.
Always use the device according to the current FareTec Instructions for Use and applicable medical protocols.
Civilian EMS & Tactical Configurations
FareTec offers the system in configurations designed for different operating environments.
CT-EMS – Civilian / EMS
Designed for civilian EMS and prehospital applications with a high-visibility material configuration.
