1. With patient laying prone, measure splint so that the top of splint is at the top of the pelvis and the traction end is six inches beyond the bottom of the foot. Add or remove splint sections to achieve desired length. (pic 1)
  2. Attach Ischial Strap (pic 2)
  3. Place straps under leg
  4. Attach ankle hitch to ankle and adjusting mechanism. (pic 3)
  5. Secure Leg straps (pic 4)
  6. Be sure any unused pole ends are on the inside of the leg straps (pic 5)
  7. Pull traction to the proper tension and secure rope in V Jam cleat. TIE OFF with half hitch ( pic 6)
  8. Use ischial buckle adjustment as needed to achieve proper length and tension. (pic-7)
