The CT-EMS is a Leg Traction Splint designed for Pre Hospital Care and Patient transport. It is primarily used on patients with mid-line femur fractures. The CT-EMS helps relieve patient pain and prevents further damage to surrounding muscle and tissue while reducing the risk of death caused from severed arteries. The CT-EMS is made of carbon tubing which snaps together via an internal bungee. Traction is achieved with a 4 to1 purchase system using a small line to apply tension. This method results in a very precise and delicate form or traction that is also powerful enough to be effective on extra large adults. The CT-EMS is extremely compact, light and strong.

  • Carbon Fiber Tubing: Corrosion resistant, temperature stabile, extremely high strength to weight ratio, x- ray translucent.
  • 4:1 Purchase Traction System: makes it easy to apply ample traction for even the largest patient. The V- Jam cleat makes it easy to readjust traction, key in long transport situations. Includes safety clip to prevent accidental releases.
  • Application: The CT-6 comes out of the bag ready to go; all of the necessary parts are attached to the splint. There is no way to lose pieces, resulting in very fast application times.
  • Instruction Manual: Each splint comes with its own “quick reference” two sided instruction manual that is water proof and tear resistant.

  • Light: Unit weighs 1lb./360 grams
  • Compact: Unit fits in small synch bag, 11 x 4 x 3in.
  • Strong: Carbon Fiber poles and injection molded plastics.
  • Effective: Four to one pulley system for efficient, easily adjustable traction.
  • Instruction Manual: Each splint comes with its own “quick reference” two sided instruction manual that is water proof and tear resistant.

The CT-EMS has been designed for civilian use. The CT-6 has been designed for tactical and military use. The main difference between these two products is the color layout of the materials. On the military version, the Ischial strap utilizes a Cobra buckle.

"We have received the CT-6 Traction Device. It’s a perfect product, we used it in our courses, our students were very positive after training with the CT-6. We introduced it at the Medical training centre of the Dutch army."

Arjen Sterk, Special Medics - Holland

"I have used the Faretec traction splint several times. It is easy to use on both adults and children. I love that it is so light weight. It has been good for areomedical and search and rescue emergency care. It holds enough tension to provide some relief for pain associated with femur fractures. Also, it has been a great educational tool during my PHTLS courses."

Gold Cross Ambulance - Jack Meersman NREMT-P Training officer

"We have used your CT-6 splint for training many times in the ED. I demonstrated them at several university hospital programs around the country. I think that this is an excellent device and I have recommended its use often in my travels"

Dr. John Fowler MD

“The CT-6 has been our obvious choice of traction device to use, teach and distribute. It offers distinct advantages for the environments that we operate in and teach others to provide casualty care in. Simple things, like the fact that it comes out of its pouch in one piece mean that no pieces get lost in the dark or fall down the slope, and the 4:1 mechanical advantage adjustment is a huge improvement in applying traction to the leg. From the perspective of a user, teacher and distributor, this is truly the best traction device in its class.”
